Prof. George Weigel

Prof. George Weigel supplementary councilor of the “think thank” of the Discovery Institute for programs relating to religion, liberty and public life. He is originally from Baltimore, Maryland where he studied at St. Mary’s Seminary and University. Subsequently, he achieved a Masters from the University of St. Michael’s College in Toronto, Canada.

Throughout the years, George Weigel has received eight degrees honoris causa as well as the papal cross Pro Ecclesia et Pontefice and the gold medal Gloria Artis of the Polish government.

While living in Seattle, Washington he was assistant to the Chair of Theology and assistant dean of studies at St. Thomas Seminary School of Theology of Kenmore. In 1986, he founded the James Madison Foundation.
