Ms. Dr. Hanna Suchocka
Ms. Dr. Hanna Suchocka was born in 1946 in Pleszew, Poland. She studied at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan and graduating in 1968, and receiving her Doctorate also in Pozanan in 1975. She specialized in constitutional law, human rights and public law. She was an academic lecturer in Poznan and in Lublin and a scientific researcher working at the Polish Academy of Sciences.
She was the first woman Prime Minister in Poland from 1992-1993, and Minister of Justice from 1997-2000. Since 1994 Dr. Hanna Suchocka has been a member of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences. In December 2001 she was appointed the Polish Ambassador for the Holy See.
